Virna Sheard (1865-1943) was a Canadian poet, novelist and short story writer. Thanks to an inheritance, her family lived in comfort. In addition to raising four sons and taking care of the household, she wrote poems and short stories for magazines and later published a series of novels. (Canada's Early Women Writers)
