Description: | The Maple Leaf was a Canadian juvenile monthly magazine published from July 1852 to December 1854. It was the second juvenile magazine published in Canada and was written for both boys and girls and their families. In all, a total of 30 issues were published.
Aimed at boys and girls up to young adult age, it was meant as a learning or educational tool for schools and families. It contains a mix of stories, poetry, non-fiction, and music. It was edited by Robert and Eleanor Lay. Eleanor continued as sole editor after Robert died in 1853. [Suggest a different description.] |
