Description:

This story is about members of the African race that is called Bantu. There are many tribes of the Bantu people. They live in Central and Southern Africa. Some live in the forests and some in open country. The Bulu are a tribe of the Bantu living in a forest country just north of the Equator and near the west coast. Their country is called Cameroun, and it is a French Mandate Territory.

This story is about the time before the Great War when there were no railroads in the Cameroun, and few motor roads. People travelled by tribal trails, and Bulu customs were like the customs of other Bantu tribes that have been little in the company of white men. Little did they know of the world that lay outside their forest.--Preface. [Suggest a different description.]
