Author Bio for Moody, Irene Helen Hawkins

Irene Helen Hawkins was born in St. Thomas, Ontario on November 21, 1879. She attended Alma College in Saint Thomas and the Curry College of Expression (oratory and public reading) in Boston. In 1905, she married Dr. William Moody and moved with him to Vancouver, British Columbia where she participated in its civic, educational, and philanthropic life. In her life, she wrote one novel for young readers Delphine of the 'Eighties, and four volumes of poetry. She died in West Vancouver on April 4, 1958.
