Author Bio for Harvey, Daniel Cobb
Daniel Cobb Harvey (1886-1966) was a Canadian historian. Born in Prince Edward Island, he attended Dalhousie University in Halifax and won a Rhodes Scholarship, graduating from Oxford in 1913. He taught at several universities across the country before accepting a job as an archivist at the Public Archives of Nova Scotia which was established in 1931. Harvey wrote several books on the history of the Maritimes and many articles in local journals. He was elected fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 1928 and awarded the Tyrrell Medal in 1942.
