Author Bio for Pollock, Frank Lillie

Francis L. Pollock (1876-1957) was a Canadian writer who wrote adventure and science fiction stories. Born in Tennessee, he emigrated to Canada with his family as a child. He worked for the Toronto Mail and Empire (now the Globe and Mail). During this time he succeeded as a writer of serialized fiction. The money he received for this writing enabled him to leave his job as a journalist to concentrate on writing. He wrote several novels and many short stories. His most well known story is Finis, about the sighting of a new star in the night sky. He managed a farm in southwestern Ontario and eventually retired to Georgetown, Ontario. (Canadian novelists, 1920-1945)
