W.H.P. (William Henry Pope) Jarvis (1876-1944) was a Canadian journalist and writer. He was born in 1876 in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. He worked as a journalist and spent time prospecting and mining in the Yukon and Alaska. He wrote three novels which reflect his time in the mining industry. His prose is heavy with the technical details of prospecting and the struggle to live in the wilderness. (Oxford Companion to Canadian Literature)
