Description: | Peggy Wayne is a graduate nurse who applies for a position as airline hostess with Skylines, Inc.
Peggy passes the rigid tests, survives the careful training period, and begins her thrilling life in the air. She meets Tex Martin, good-looking co-pilot, and falls in love. Determined and ambitious, Peggy becomes an ace hostess and then secretly learns to fly a plane herself.
Her knowledge of instruments and navigation is tested when an attempt is made to hijack a new Skylines Stratoliner on a test run to New York. Trapped in the substratosphere, Peggy employs desperate measures to outwit the gangsters. Her own life, the lives of Tex and Captain Concannon, the reputation of Skylines, and an important U.S. aviation secret are at stake!—From the Dustjacket. [Suggest a different description.] |
