Description:

First term at Kingscote! Nicky and Lawrie Marlow looked forward to their new school--they weren't nervous about it because their four older sisters were already there. Perhaps that was why, from the very beginning, things didn't happen in the way they expected.

For instance, any other new girl might have dropped her sixteen-blade penknife out of the train window, but only Nicky would have pulled the communication cord at once, which meant both she and her sister Karen (who happened to be head girl) were in trouble before the term had even started.

Then the twins had expected to start their careers in form IIIa--after all, the rest of the family had done so--but to their horror they were placed in the Third Remove.

This is a splendid story, full of the kind of details and incidents which many people have to live through, set in the fascinating world of a boarding school. Any reader who enjoys tales about schools will thoroughly enjoy it. [Suggest a different description.]
