Author Bio for Runbeck, Margaret Lee
Margaret Lee Runbeck (1900-1956) was an American author. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa. She first appeared in print a few weeks before her 13th birthday when she won a contest sponsored by a newspaper. Shortly thereafter she began writing a weekly human interest column, under a pseudonym because of her young age. In University she won an award for her prose. She started to write for the Christian Science Monitor and then began writing fiction. She was involved in humanitarian work in India for which she wrote 6 books which were translated into 14 languages. Over her writing career she wrote 16 books and 250 short stories and articles.
