Author Bio for Voss, John Claus
Jon Voss (1858-1922) was a German-Canadian sailor. He is known for his sailing journey around the world in a modified dug-out canoe named 'Tilikum' which means friend in Chinook. He and a journalist/shipmate left British Columbia in 1901 and eventually landed at Margate, England in 1904. He wrote about his experiences in his book "The Venturesome Voyages of Captain Voss".
