Author Bio for Herbin, John Frederic
John Frederic Herbin (1860-1923) was a Canadian businessman and author. Born in Nova Scotia of Acadian heritage. He setup a jewellery business in his home town but his secondary interest was promoting the Acadian people and their history. He purchased land in the area where Acadians were deported in the 18th century. He and other Acadians developed the site into a theme park called "Evangeline Park". It was eventually designated as an historic site. Herbin wrote many books and articles both fiction and non-fiction on the theme of the Acadian people and their heritage. (Acadia University)
