Author Bio for Reynolds, Joshua
Joshua Reynolds (1723-1792) was a English portrait artist. He was one of the greatest European painters of the 18th century and was known for his use of the "Grand Manner" of painting which promoted generalization and idealization of the subject rather than an attention to accuracy and detail.
