John Harold Putnam (1886-1940) was a Canadian teacher and author. Born in Lincoln County, Ontario, he taught in various schools in Ontario. In 1910 he was appointed Chief Inspector of schools in Ottawa. He is the author of several books on education. (Macmillan Dictionary of Canadian Biography)
