Author Bio for Gordon, Rev Charles William
Charles William Gordon, aka Ralph Connor, (1860-1937) was a Canadian Presbyterian minister and writer. Born in farm country in southwest Ontario and educated in Toronto, he was ordained as minister in 1890. He did missionary work in the north amongst miners and trappers before accepting parish work in Winnipeg. He wrote stories for a religious publication about his experiences in the north and when the collected stories were published as books, they were wildly successful. He turned out to be one of the most popular Canadian novelists of the early 20th century. (The Macmillan Dictionary of Canadian Biography)
